Three Unmatched Advantages to Hardwood
Hardwood offers several benefits beyond beauty. Other floor coverings, such as carpet, laminate or tile, may offer one or two of the benefits below. However, only hardwood can offer all three of these.
Wood has an amazing capability of fitting a timeless appeal into any home decor. Accent a contemporary design with a quilted maple Add warmth to a traditional design with a stained oak. Draw attention to a room with one of many beautiful exotic woods, or just add character with some hand-scraped cherry. That classic beauty is one of the best returns on investment you can add to your home. Ask a local realtor or, better yet, do a Google search for “ROI” and “hardwood floors.” Not only will having hardwood increase the value of your house, it will help it sell faster.
Wood floors are one of the easiest floor coverings to maintain. New microfiber mops make dusting your floors a breeze. When it starts showing wear, have them rejuvenated with a quick recoat. If your floors are done right the first time, they shouldn’t need refinishing for decades. A large part of our our business is refinishing the original hardwood floors in homes that are 60, 80 or more than 100 years old!
That’s right. Flooring can be good for the air.
One complaint we hear is that hardwood floors can look dusty. With hardwood, if you can see it, you can clean it. A microfiber mop can rid your floor of the dust in minutes. With carpet, you never really know what’s locked in its fibers. You can vacuum the carpet, but it won’t necessarily get all the ground-in dust particles. Between trapped allergens and some consumer-grade vacuums’ tendency to throw dust into the air, the cleaner look of carpet may be deceiving. Clean floors equal a clear conscious when it comes to air purity.
